We have created a Careers Guidance Team on Microsoft Teams, which provides students with access to a range of different resources. 

To access the Careers Guidance Team, students will need to open Microsoft Teams; click on ‘Teams’ and then ‘Join or create team’ and either search for ‘Careers Guidance’ or enter the following code: yqews4w

This is open to any current West Hatch student. 

It includes folders full of files on;

* Careers Advice, such as The Beginner's Guide to Law and A Brief Guide To Help Teens Create a Successful Business

* Qualifications 

* Job Profiles and A Guide to STEM Careers: 'Saving the World with STEM'

* Apprenticeships, such as A Guide to Apprenticeships and Apprenticeship Lists  

* Labour Market Information 

* Recruitment - CVs, Interviews and Assessment Centres 

* University & Higher Education, such as How to choose a Degree and The Complete Guide to Studying Abroad 

* Year Specific Resources - including Year 8/9 Options and life after Year 11/13.  

 

CAREERS CENTRE

Our Careers Centre is full of useful booklets and careers resources, to help students learn about the various options out there and help to support them in making a decision about their next step.

Careerometer

Careerometer can be used to explore and compare key information about occupations, help you learn about different occupations and identify potential careers.
It provides access to a selection of UK headline data relating to pay, weekly hours of work and future employment prospects for different occupations, as well as description of the occupation.
Simply type in the title of the job you are interested in and the widget provides a series of options from which you can select the most relevant to you. You can then look up another two occupations and compare. You can also select ‘display the UK average’ and compare the information with the occupation you have selected.
