    Universities, colleges and employers are interested in ‘rounded’ students with the initiative and personal skills to face the modern world. With this in mind, we offer you a range of opportunities and enrichment activities throughout your time at West Hatch, for example:

    Work Placements & Work Shadowing

     
    Community Service
    leading into Prefect Status, with leadership and responsibility
     
    Young Enterprise Scheme
    The chance to run your own company
    Trips & Visits
    and access to a whole range of outside speakers
    Sports
    Weekly sessions are available, with a variety of activities - including use of Multigym etc
     
    Music, Art, Drama & Dance
    A whole range of opportunities for musicians, artists, singers, actors & set builders
    The Sixth Form Student Leadership Team
    Pupils are invited to serve on the Sixth Form Council, enabling them to discuss school matters, both academic and social, with senior members of staff
    Duke of Edinburgh Award
    Opportunity to get involved, leading to expeditions, skill development and service to the community
    Literacy Mentoring
    Younger pupils are offered help with their reading skills - building up their confidence
     
    Peer Mentoring
    Opportunity through training to work with lower school pupils in resolving issues and conflicts
    Chess Club
    This is a weekly club for all students, run by Sixth Form prefects, to play chess and develop their chess skills.
    Economics Society
    This is a student led society, which meets on a weekly basis to discuss various economic issues.
